Meet Our Leadership Team
Ron Scasny
President
With nearly five decades of experience in health care administration, Ron has expertise in commercial, self-funded and Medicaid plans, provider network development and executive leadership of major health plan operations. He’s the former Owner and President of Abri Health Plan and the founder and President of Caring with Honor. When he’s not in the office, you’ll find him hunting or fishing in the great outdoors, cheering on the Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers and enjoying time with his family.
Joanne Bolz
Director of Provider Relations and Contracting
Joanne brings nearly 30 years of experience in insurance and managed care of commercial plans, self-funded plans and Medicaid. She is the former Provider Relations Director for Abri Health Plan, where she worked directly with Ron before joining him in forming SMG. Her leadership in the sales and marketing efforts of SMG has been instrumental to the growth of the business.
Rebeca Ornelas

INFORMATION SYSTEMS
There is no question who runs the backend of the SMG business! Rebeca has over three decades of technical backend experience in commercial, self-funded and Medicaid plans including data management, reporting, medical claims processing and cost containment, claims processing software development and tech support. She was the former Data Services Manager at Abri Health before joining Ron in forming SMG.
Barb Weinkauf
DIRECTOR OF
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Barb has provided over 30 years of customer service and human resource support in management roles, including many years spent in the hospitality industry. Barb oversees completion of activities in accordance with the established processes to exceed customer expectations. She is passionate about developing the team culture at SMG! She loves the family feel of being part of a small business and celebrating the successes of each individual contributor.
Eric Scasny
Provider Database Specialist
Eric joined the SMG team in 2014 as the “database guy.” He and his team are responsible for ensuring that our provider database is kept up to date and accurate. This ensures that when claims are submitted, they are processed and paid efficiently. He loves being a part of the SMG team and is grateful for the leadership team that provides him the freedom to approach projects and tasks in his own way.
Victoria Pagan
Claims Manager
Victoria joined the SMG team in 2015 and has nearly 20 years of experience in the healthcare field. She is in charge of processing the claims and ensuring that our turnaround time not only meets our high level of expectations, but exceeds them. In her role as Claims Manager, Victoria loves that there are always new things to learn or tackle. She enjoys the people she works with every day at SMG – both in the office and on the other side of the phone.
Rosa Nunez
Customer Service Lead
Top notch communication skills, active listening and problem-solving are Rosa’s most notable attributes. Our members and providers are in very capable hands when speaking with Rosa. Her product knowledge, leadership, drive to resolve questions in a timely and empathic nature is what sets her above the rest. Rosa is bi-lingual and can service clients in both English and Spanish.
Beth Lambrecht Scasny
Accounting Manager
Beth has worked in accounting for almost 30 years prior to joining the SMG team in 2020. She has worked as a controller for a software company, as a finance director for a small business and even owned and operated her own embroidery business. Beth looks at accounting like a giant puzzle and loves putting the pieces together and ending up with balanced financial statements. Outside the office, you’ll find her playing tennis or golf and spending time with her family.
Emily Daw
Health Communication Coordinator
Emily received her Masters of Science in Health Communication in 2020. Since then, she’s been a part of the healthcare industry, covering everything from scheduling appointments and procedures and building comprehensive coverage schedules, to providing administrative support to healthcare professionals. She truly loves being able to inundate herself in the rapidly changing healthcare scene, especially when it comes to Medicaid and Medicare and enjoys the camaraderie shared in the office.
Jonathan Felix
MEDICARE OPERATIONS COORDINATOR
Jonathan has over 12 years of experience managing health care administration. He was previously a Director of Business Operations for a successful Internal Medicine practice, and worked as a Medicare Concierge providing patients with high-quality care coordination. He has also supported providers looking to develop innovative revenue management strategies and improve their business and clinical efficiency. He is excited about joining the SMG team and providing outstanding service to our clients.
